The disc placement is dangerous, cause if you drop the system, the disc and the disc spinner could break or be damaged.

i have a suggestion, it would be a WHOLE LOTTA WORK but totally worth it. make your own pcb board get a small 32-bit microproccessor and a couple sd cards then get the source code from the game cube, then save the games on to the sd cards, wire it all up. that way its small and cheap, also the battery will last for a long time! but that would be insane! just an idea though.
